A Wet Weekend In Bowness

A Wet Weekend In Bowness

1st November 2019 – 4th November 2019

We’re back at Braithwaite Fold campsite in Bowness-On-Windermere, which has been extended to include c20 extra camping pitches. And we’re here, because it’s Peter’s birthday! Lots of walking, eating and drinking planned to help him celebrate!

We pitched up on Friday evening and quickly found a new ‘Boaters Bar’ near the Ship Inn on Glebe Road by the Marina. Glitzy, but nice and welcoming to dogs.

Saturday started early watching England v New Zealand at Windermere Rugby Club. Enough said! Not a great start to the day, so a long brisk walk was in order!

Saturday evening saw us return to our favourite restaurant ‘The Gilpin Spice’ and it didn’t disappoint. Fabulous meal all round.

The rain on Sunday, kept us low level, walking by Wordsworth House to Grasmere and we ended the weekend having lunch at Chesters, Skelwith Bridge. Another great weekend!

Congratulations Henry!

Henry’s Graduation

25th June 2019

Well done Henry! We couldn’t be prouder of you getting your honours degree in Environmental Geography. Outstanding result! And the weather couldn’t have been better. For two days before the ceremony, the heavens had been pouring. With mass flooding in the Bridge of Allan and even reports of people canoeing down the high street! But, on the important day, the sun shone! And what a day it was too – complete with an excellent piper!
